1. 10. – 9. 10. 2022 HYBRID BUTOH FESTIVAL

Two weekends of the festival, eight days of Butoh, and over 70 dancers from 16 countries at the LOT - it was pure magic, and it was breathtaking! Never has the LOT been able to shine so dazzlingly in a thousand facets on one evening and host so many international guests and artists.

Watching Atsushi's solo performance makes you deeply grateful to be alive. It almost felt like you were reliving not only your own life but also the lives of those who came before you and those yet to come... In his 1.5-hour dance, T the Butohist went deep down to our distant ancestors, breaking down boundaries and connecting us to our common roots. Together with the amazing variety of Hiroko Komiya's poetic soundscapes and singing, the stage was set for immersion into the distant and perhaps not-so-distant lands of another universe. As if on a journey through time, one could experience the whole range of all possible emotions:

From joy to fear, from absurdity to madness, from horror to poetry, and from death to rebirth.
