ECHOLOT - Cultural Association for Transdisciplinary Art & Artistic Research. Founded to establish a new cultural venue for transdisciplinary art & artistic research, it is responsible for the artistic direction and presentation of the LOT. Together, the space and the association act as a networking environment and cultural initiative.
„ECHOLOT is the German term for a nautical device:
It transmits soundwaves to measure depths
by evaluating the reflections from the ground.“

Since our founding, this instrument has become our central metaphor.
The name says it all: ECHOLOT sends impulses into the city to initiate urban dialogue and transforms the reflections into Transdisciplinary Art. ECHOLOT is an open association and we welcome anybody who shares our values and joins our vision.
