Paula Punkstina und Sara Francola
Paula Punkstina (b. 2001, Latvia) and Sara Francola (b. 1998, Italy) are an artist duo based in The Hague, Netherlands. Their collaborative practice navigates the shifting territory of intimacy, language, and memory. As friends, lovers, and co-creators, their work frames personal histories through playful yet melancholic metaphors. Through irony and encoded gestures, they turn private dialogue into public inquiry, asking: What remains when intimacy is deconstructed?
Dodge the Bullet
Every relationship is shaped as much by silence as by speech. Dodge the Bullet collaboratively explores the shifting bond between two individuals, focusing on the space between what is spoken and what is withheld. During this residency, their research will be a part of a broader inquiry into the unstable nature of communication and the meaning that emerges in its gaps.
